Cleaning rubber flooring depends on several factors, including your barn layout, manure consistency, and local climate.

Flush barns, which are common in warmer regions such as California, Arizona, and parts of Texas, require mats with surfaces that allow liquid to flow freely without creating resistance. Deep grooves or raised traction bars can slow down flush water, leading to standing manure or urine. For these systems, we typically recommend Grooved Rolled rubber.

Barns that use skid steers for manual scraping benefit from mats with higher abrasion resistance. When scraping with loaders and blades, mats must be durable and maintain traction even as bedding, manure, and urine gradually wear down the surface. Vacuum systems, common in some tunnel-ventilated or robotic barns, also perform well with smoother mats that ensure tight surface contact.
