“Their joint and hoof health is largely contributed to the rubber mats. If we were to do this again, I would never consider going without them. ”
Maeghan, MJM Farms
MaxGrip Slatted is designed for slatted beef confinement pens. Its high-traction surface improves animal safety by reducing slips on concrete slats, while its durable construction stands up to the heavy traffic and demanding conditions of beef operations.
Yes — but this requires precision. Slatted floors are not one-size-fits-all. Each slat manufacturer uses different molds with unique dimensions for beam width, slot spacing, and edge taper. Installing a generic mat over a slat usually ends in poor fitment, manure bridging, or premature wear.
We offer custom-cut slat mats designed for exact slat profiles.
Send us a slat cross-section or manufacturer ID, and we’ll cut mats specifically to fit your slats. You’ll get safer footing and uninterrupted manure handling.
The redesigned AniLock System is our secure, low-effort anchoring system that holds mats firmly in place - even under the extreme pressure of heavy cattle.
Unlike rubber pound-in plugs, which can be labor-intensive to install, prone to loosening over time, and difficult to remove or maintain, AniLock offers a smarter, more durable alternative.
Key advantages:
With IronGrip’s added thickness, we’ve made a small adjustment to AniLock so that it now secures the full 1” depth of the mat into the slat — maintaining full contact and holding strength without compromise.
MaxGrip was originally developed to meet the demands of the cattle finishing environment of the past, when average cattle weights were lower, and feed lots had less concentrated traffic. It features a ¾” (0.8") thick, high-traction surface designed to balance comfort, grip, and durability — and it has served producers well for many years across North America.
But times have changed.
With average finished cattle weights increasing over 40% since the 1990s due to advances in genetics, nutrition, and management, producers noticed accelerated wear in high-traffic areas using mats less than 1” thick. The heavier cattle and increased traffic led to faster degradation of these mats, highlighting the need for more durable solutions.
That’s where IRONGRIP comes in.
Slatted Floor Anchoring Innovation
Animat was quick to come down to our facility to design the plan and determine exactly how many mats we needed. Animat has been great to work with. They answered all my questions going into the project.

It is an investment.. But when you consider what your overall investment is in the cattle and their performance, you need to give those cattle very opportunity to perform at their utmost ability. 99

Animat's rubber flooring provides the cows with a comfortable surface to walk on in their travel lanes, at their feed bunks, and anywhere they move. While they're on our rotary, they stand on the rubber mats, which offers a soft, supportive surface for them to stand on.
