MVP Dairy is a large partnership farm. We house 4, 500 cows where we milk about 3, 800 of those on an 80 Stall DeLaval Rotary.
We were looking to modernize our barn and ensure our cows were comfortable, so we needed a company that was capable to take on this project and work closely with us.
MVP Dairy, LLC is a partnership farm between two 4th generation families; the McCarty family of Kansas and the VanTilburg family of Ohio. Together, they take pride in the care they provide to their cows, their land and their team that helps create high quality milk. When the two families came together to create the McCarty-VanTilburg Partnership (MVP) they had one vision: To create sustainable farming with a positive social, economic and environmental impact on their communities.
This partnership allowed MVP Dairy to be self-sufficient for all of their operational and marketing needs and has led them to be more efficient and more sustainable than ever before, while also prioritizing cow comfort and the well-being of the team responsible for taking care of their cows.
As a large dairy operation that is home to 4,500 Holstein cows and 35 full-time employees, MVP Dairy has a lot of moving parts. This presented the challenge of seeking a durable solution that could withstand their dairy cow traffic. Recognizing the toughness and shock-absorbing qualities of rubber, the goal was clear: find a practical and robust product that would increase herd health and barn productivity while withstanding the demanding conditions of their busy dairy operation.
Through their producer relationship and partnership with Danone, MVP Dairy prioritizes sustainability as a core goal shared by both companies. With sustainability at the forefront of their mission, MVP Dairy sought out a solution that aligned with their commitment to the environment.
Recognizing that a project of this magnitude required more than just a high product quality, MVP Dairy looked to find a partner who would be there every step of the way, ensuring on-time deliveries and providing support throughout the entire process.
Incorporating sustainable practices is integral to our partnership with Danone and our own mission. The more we can do to contribute to sustainability goals, the better. We needed to improve cow comfort, and we've seen firsthand that is what Animat specializes in. The cows are noticeably more comfortable. Our lameness has been reduced dramatically.
